Several years ago, Kathleen's mother came to live with her and her husband, Mark. Eileen was diagnosed with dementia, diabetes, was overweight and was fairly uninterested in life. They took it upon themselves to learn as much as they could to help mom. Eileen's health improved as well as her social interaction. Through this journey, they realized that they could provide a peaceful and loving environment for other seniors. Mark and Kathleen love their residents as family. It is a privilege to share each day with them.
Mark and Kathleen’s business partner, Brian Friedel, turned his home into a licensed RCFE in 2021, A Family of Care No. 2.
Brian was touched by the level of care his mother received through a hospice service several years ago. He is very humbled to be able to provide loving and attentive services to other seniors in need as a certified Administrator. The home is just a couple of miles away and offers three extra-large shared rooms
for residents in addition to a large backyard with a
walking path and gazebo. A Family of Care No. 2 shares the same philosophy and high level of compassionate care.
With the growing demand of RCFE, and Brian are happy to announce that, A Family of Care No. 3 will be opening September 1st.
“A Family of Care provides a secure and safe environment for our 90 year old father. The loving care they provide puts our minds at ease knowing dad is happy, healthy and safe in their care.”
"Simply amazing! They were a dream come true for our family. Their home is bright, clean, beautiful and inviting.
My father’s physical, nutritional and emotional needs are being met 100%. Most importantly Mark and Kathleen are the most kind, caring and giving people I know and I will be forever grateful to them for treating my Dad like family."
"I have worked professionally with the A Family of Care facilities for the past 3 years. During this time, it has been an exemplary experience working alongside the owners and caregivers. Each and every caregiver at all of the facilities are gentle, loving, and caring. I have witnessed first hand the love they show their residents, going above and beyond. I am always hesitant to recommend facilities to my patients and families, but have always felt confident in recommending the A Family of Care facilities. It is refreshing work with a facility that shows just as much love and care as I hope to give to my patients. I can't recommend them enough!"
"A Family of Care was a Godsend for our family! Kathleen has done such a wonderful job with my dad! He came in with pain in his neck and shoulders and was hunched over. He now sits up straight. He loves her healthy cooking, especially her baked goods. Every time I see my father he is smiling. Kathleen’s husband has bonded with my dad, and he helps him with hygiene, dressing, watching movies and shows. He also plays the grand piano every night. The staff dances with him! Thank you so much A Family of Care for given our family peace knowing he is in the best place we could have placed him."
"A Family of Care is like family! Kathleen and Mark and the entire staff are so amazing! They take ca re of my mom, but also clearly show they care about my mom. My family is forever grateful for A Family of Care- thank you!"
